Rehab Royale is a punk trio formed in Trondheim, Norway in late 2006. The original line-up featured female singer Jana Royale who later moved. Since then, the vocals has been handled by original bass player Twiggy Royale. Twiggy and original members Shitbag (Drums) and Duke Royale (Guitar) had retired from the music scene when they first met up, but found instantly common ground both personally and musically. This led to the first rehearsals. The early days music was a mix of punk, hardcore and ska before finding their own sound which has been described (wrongly?) as working class party punk. The lyrics reflect the band's views on politics, religion and society in general, always trying to add a twist or a pinch of humor. Their constant desire to play live has gained them a good routine and stage confidence. This have been rewarded with excellent live reviews and a dedicated following. Rehab Royale merchandise has since the start been in high demand. This have led to the production of T-Shirts, Hoodies, Stickers, Buttons, Plectrums and whatnot, all offered to fans for non-profit prices or even given away. Several 'high-profile' bands and performers have been observed wearing RR gear, both on stage and in private. In February 2008 they did their first studio session. The 6 tracks recorded was originally meant to be released as a CD EP titled 'Loyal To None' but was put on hold due to a growing buzz around the band. In July they shook hands with Running Eye Records for a full-length debut album. They have teamed up with Johnny Remain (Running Eye Records/Johnny and the Remains) and Tommy Dirk (Null$katte$nylterne) to produce and engineer the album. During the studio session, 17 tracks were recorded. Release is planned for mid summer 2009. At present they're working on a new material for future releases, and playing various one-off gigs in Norway, staying in ship shape for the upcoming release tour.
