Updated 7-10-09. I've been everything from a wildland firefighter to college grad student, dancer, martial artist, teacher, photographer, and now an engineer..hockey superstar on the side lol. Keeps me interesting...I think...but probably not. I Bought a house in Lincoln 2 years ago when I moved back to CA after getting a graduate degree from ASU in construction management. That's right I'm a Master. I'll have to start selling plasma to cover what all that cost me though. Do people buy urine? But seriously, I took a transfer out to the San Diego-LA-ish area back in February when things got slow in the construction industry. The office is in Temecula, which is about an hour from everything, Corona, Riverside, San Diego, etc. but I actually work as a project engineer on a drinking water plant expansion in the blistering desert of El Centro. El Centro is pretty much Mexico, 45min from Yuma AZ and 10min from the border. So, I haven't seen my house much but the opportunity for job growth and at the very least keeping that job are better out here for now. Actually just finished up some landscaping in the backyard so it can be rented. No sense paying for 2 places and not living in the one I want to. I'm still sunburned a week later....sizzle. Satisfying to finally see some green on the lawn though and such but kinda sad I couldn't waste the money to put in the things that would have made it a great yard for me. Thems the breaks when you become a landlord I guess. Still playing hockey on the side, fly out to Sac about twice a month to visit family, friends, M and to hit the ice with the Pirates. We won't be winning any Stanely Cups but hey its ice time. Let's me work off the steam in a semi-viloent way....lol.
The Rough Riders finished out the Winter 2009 Season in 1st place, squeaking by Norcal in the Roseville Adult Bronze Hockey League. We beat them in an exhibition bye week while the other teams battled it out for rankings in for the first few rounds of the playoffs. We won on a goal from yours truly, see I can be a hero sometimes. Then we beat a few other teams before matching up with Norcal again in the Final. Lost in a shootout 2-1 after regulation and an overtime. Close as you can get to winning. I think we had a great team and it was sad to see it go when I had to move. My other team, the Puckhogs, lost to the Pints in the 2nd or 3rd Round of the Silver B Playoffs. I lost a few friends that game after the fall-out from a fight I started with one of their bruisers with 30 sec left in the game. But, much love to the PuckHogs and I'll be seeing more of you again for awhile when we match up, Pirates vs. the Hogs. Hockey is a great stress reliever and anything that keeps my eye from twitching, I'll be doing it. Fuckin thing has been twitching for like 5 months. Don't look now....it stopped. Wait it started again....oh I'm ok now....still ok....for now.
ABOUT ME: The simple answer is that I'm just me. I'm responsible and can be serious but I love to joke and poke fun, usually at myself. But if I poke fun in the wrong place, let me know, you might not like my finger there....ahaha lol. A smile goes a long way with me. And yes, that means flowers, starry skies, "random thoughts in parks and parking lots" and offering up the window seat. I'm just me, take it or leave it. And, I'll give it to you straight.
Show me love. 1 Cor 13:4-7
