Rico Monaco & Sol Sons

About Me

Rico Monaco & Sol Sons is a multi-award-winning Latin rock band from Orlando, Florida. With roots in New York City, Florida, Italy, & Puerto Rico, RMSS fluidly mixes Latin rhythms, rock, pop, jazz, and world influences to create a unique crossover sound. Their songs range from Latin rock/pop numbers that make you want to dance and sing along, to ballads, instrumentals, and Latin jazz jams that will stir your soul. Showcasing their world class musical talent and showmanship, members of RMSS have shared the stage with some of the biggest artists in the Latin and Rock world including Tito Puente, Sammy Hagar (of Van Halen), Bob Marleys Legendary Wailers, Smashmouth, Marc Anthony, Rascal Flats, Mongo Santamaria, Michael Anthony of Van Halen, Jon Secada, Café Tacuba, Blue Oyster Cult, The Pointer Sisters, Los Van Van, Loverboy, Sly & The Family Stone, The Fania Allstars, and Tito Nieves. They have performed to rave reviews in locations such as Paris, Mexico, New York, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Miami, Walt Disney Worlds Epcot Center, Hard Rock Live, and The House Of Blues. RMSS target audience includes Europe, Asia, and the Americas. They have received airplay on many different formatted radio stations and stood toe to toe with some of the greatest musicians of our time. Rico Monaco, musical director/guitarist of RMSS, is highly regarded by many world-renowned musicians as an exceptional bandleader and onstage performer. As the bands principal songwriter, Rico is the producer of the three recordings RMSS released in the last five years. Their latest CD, Luna Salerno (October 17, 2006), exemplifies the bands diverse crossover sound. With lyrics in English, Spanish and Italian, Luna Salerno features seven original songs and a ten-minute enhanced video Interview with Rico Monaco. The video includes live clips; studio footage and pictures that offer the viewer an up close and personal look into the inspirational vision of Rico Monaco. Together with Luna Salerno, the bands previous two releases (Rico Monaco & Sol Sons 13 song CD released 2001 and Ciao Bella Signorina 4 song EP released 2003) evidence the development of RMSS unique style and cutting-edge direction. RMSS recorded sound is superb, but their live show on the big stage is where they truly excel. With the ability to expand from a core band of seven (guitar, bass, keys, drums, percussion and vocalists) up to seventeen (including five-piece brass and dancers), RMSS has headlined in front of 60,000 people. They have also performed with and are available to perform with Tito Puente, Jr. as their special guest in a one-of-a-kind event that includes some of the greatest hits of the legendary Tito Puente, Sr. as the perfect complement to RMSS own hot originals.
