About Me

My name is Kat Vardy.
I started making teddy bears in Autumn 2005. I made my first bear for my aunt who had just had a new baby. I didn't know what to buy her, so I thought that I would make them a bear. I enjoyed making it, but I really wanted to try a jointed bear.
I then found out that a bear shop near my home did bear making classes. For an early christmas present, Rob paid for me to go on the six week bear making course at Teslatop Bears. In the class we made an antique style bear (Patch). This course really helped to improve my skills.
I now design my own bears. I sew all my bears by hand. I don't use a sewing machine for anything, so it takes me about a week to do one bear.
If you are interested in adopting one of my bears, please contact me.
I do make bears to order, so if you see one you like in the pictures please contact me. If you would like one made to order, you will get to choose the colour of the mohair etc. (just let me know whether it is for an adult or a child).
All bears come with their own birth certificate and come from a smoke free home.

Sophies Raffle

The raffle at Whitby went very well. Sophies new owner seemed very happy when she picked her up. The raffle raised £474. I believe the total amount raised for the memorial bench is around £3005.
