Hashim Haruna, aka Big Hash does not need any further introduction as he is a very popular guy. Being born in Nima and later moved to the Bronx but never lost his roots, "We never have our own party, we always used to go to parties of different cultures and listened to their music and the only way for these people to hear our music is to start having our own parties ", he added. This is the main reason why he started organizing events in order to bring all cultures together. It works now because anytime he and his group organize a party, there are different people of diverse cultures who dance to the Ghanaian music and love it.
Hashim says BDN is for everyone, not just for him and VIP alone because it is a nonprofit project. He goes; "The only way to move forward is to give back that's the motto we have and the scholarship fund that was started five years ago. What I do is, anytime I organize an event, some percentage goes towards the scholarship funds".
