About Me

SF360 is a citywide initiative launched by The San Francisco Film Society designed to showcase the extraordinary vitality and variety of the Bay Area film and media scene. The year-round portfolio of SF360 events transforms the cultural landscape of the city with an ever-evolving spectrum of initiatives devoted to exploring new work, new platforms and new audiences. That may sound stuffy, but it's true. SF360 is intended to uplift the entire Bay Area film and media community.
The slate of SF360 programs include SF360.org; SF360 FILM+CLUB; SF360 LIVE; and SF360 Satellite Screenings.
SF360.org
Launched in March 2006, SF360.org is a vibrant daily magazine devoted to the San Francisco Bay Area film and media scene. Copublished by the San Francisco Film Society and indieWIRE , SF360.org is the place for all your Bay Area film and media news. It also has a social networking component where you can meet other like-minded movie-lovers or reach out to filmmakers and other industry professionals. The site also sends out a weekly newsletter with stories, news and other useful info. To get it, visit www.sf360.org.
SF360 FILM+CLUB is a social screening series that takes movies out of the theater and puts them in the club. The latest event was at Mezzanine in San Francisco and featured the Wholphin, the new DVD put out by McSweeney's. This series explores the social aspect of the movies. They often include free beer and a dance party following the movie. For more information or to be added to the mailing list, email [email protected].
SF360 LIVE is a roving salon of panels, discussions, book signings and special presentations throughout the year. There are always events in this series during SFFS events, like the San Francisco International Film Festival, the San Francisco International Animation Showcase and New Italian Cinema.
SF360 Satellite Screenings are presented in collaboration with several arts organizations and non-traditional screening venues, as the Film Society presents selected programs at satellite locations around the city. 2006 saw a collection of Festival film mash-ups at Edinburgh Castle; an SFIFF/Porchlight storytelling at the Swedish American Hall; documentary screenings at art spaces; an outdoor screening on the façade of SFFD Fire Station #7; and a live interactive performance by renowned U.K. VJs Addictive TV.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Anyone and everyone. Especially if you are interested in film and media and you happen to live in the Bay Area. Maybe you're a movie lover. Maybe you're a filmmaker. Maybe you're working on a movie set. You get the idea. SF360 is designed to uplift the Bay Area's film and media community. Come be a part of it.
