About Me

I've been writing since as long as I can remember. Short stories on a type writer. Mostly about super heroes I made like "Lightning Hawk" and "Rat Man". I can still draw them too. Yeah, I was awesome like that. Wrote my first poem in 4th grade in a secret admirer note to a girl. Started writing journal entries in the 8th grade. Learned how to bleed on the page thanks to Ms. Hudson. Wrote lyrics as a freshman, trying to start two bands No Kure (guitarist) and Fallen Hero (front man), both are still pending. Didn't really start writing poetry until my senior year in High School thanks to three teachers: Mama Morgan, Lori Vandenberg, and of course Javier Martinez. That's where everything came together. I found my voice and style. Would eventually make a name for myself in Amarillo. I am Daniel C. Ramos, Epic, DCR, The D.R.E. (The Daniel Ramos Experience), Dirty Dirty, Wino, Suicide Bomber, Borracho, Dawn, DCRP, but most known as Gutter Poet. I had to go through a lot to write my poetry. Its come from some good, but mostly bad times. Poetry has been the only constant in my life. A pioneering member of the Caprock Spoken Word Society. Member of The Permian Basin Poetry Society and The Concrete Generation. Father of SLAMarillo. I'm currently working on a new poetry family in my hometown of Midland Texas. I feel like I'm just now really getting started. PUSH
