The Tunk,

finds his roots in the early 90Â´s punkrock. After having settled in Berlin, he got involved in the local squatter scene and later the â€žreclaim the streetsâ€œ-movement, then followed years of excess.
He started to create his own beats during the big raves 98/99 and in eastern europe. 99Â´he bought his first keyboard and 2001 the first 12â€œ record on his own label `Dogcity recordsÂ´ was released.
Since then he had played livesets all over europe and also in South America, where he performed 2005 on the Bogotrax-Festival in Bogota, Colombia, amongst other locations in this area. Have a look at bogotrax.free.fr From his mostly analogue-based sound he switched to digital modular synths like Synthedit and Reaktor, where he also put his hands on instrument design. (The instruments are being released under his real name Mike Woloszyn.) REAKTOR user libary
The sound is hard, fast and very electronic and a bit unconventional. â€žHard Teknoâ€œ with influences of â€žAcidâ€œ and â€žDÂ´nÂ´Bâ€œis a clever description. Right now he is working for the labels â€žJoint Operation Records - JopRec.org â€ž and â€žNo- Breaks - nobreaks-records.net â€ž And his name is â€žThe Tunkâ€œ and not Trunk, Trank, Tank or Tonk rather â€žThe Tunkâ€œ means Tekno-Punk.
