The powerful and sultry voice of Sofea Watkins causes her supply to be in demand across this country. From her heartfelt energetic performances to her soulful delivery creates an atmosphere that transcends all ethnic, gender and genre boundaries alike. Her experiences as Choir Director and Praise Team Leader has influenced and fashioned her awareness and strategies in commanding the stage with every performance. Sofea is an inspired vocalist as well as a prolific songwriter. As a vocalist, she has shared the stage with such artists as Howard Hewitt, Tarlyn Ramsey, LaShun Pace Rhodes, Melba Moore, and Shea Norman, just to name a few. As a songwriter, two of her songs were featured on the 2005 Bridge Awards winning CD of the year, entitled “The Prodigal Son” by Jeffrey Williams. This Memphis, Tennessee native is the C.E.O. of Nu Soul Entertainment Group, a company originated in 2003 to empower, develop and prepare upcoming artists for the entertainment industry. “There is a need to educate and train aspiring artists in the areas of artist development, character, and community involvement for the industry, she states. The much- anticipated debut single “4 Me”, highlights the musical diversity as well as a “fresh new sound “that makes Sofea a talent to be reckoned with. “4 Me was written to proclaim the miracles and blessings that God has done 4 Me”. “And if He can do it 4 Me, He can surely do it 4 you too!” “Two for One”, which features Sofea’s son, Nathaniel, recognizes single parents who have single-handedly cultivated the unconditional love, loyalty and devotion between parent and child and will not let anyone come in and destroy that by only accepting the one without the other. “Great is thy Faithfulness” identifies the faithfulness and mercy of Our Creator that accompanies a soul that has undeniable always been present.
