At the age of 18, Jonathan has been traveling and singing for more than half of his life. Jonathan walked away winning nearly every talent competition/contest he ever entered. He received charting success, performed in front of thousands of people, hosting and performing on national television events, and traveling all across America. His first Gospel CD was recorded at the age of 9. Since then he has recorded ten projects and one live DVD. Jonathan has been blessed to venture out into new fields and adventures. He has had major success in the musical theater department starring in the biggest and best of shows like High School Musical, Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, You're A Good Man Charlie Brown and many others. He also had the opportunity to work in NYC w/ major agencies and several other major cities.
Also in 2005 Jonathan started his own young gospel group called: New Generation. In 2007 New Generation set out on one of the most memorable tours entitled: The Survived & Standing Brave Tour. The tour featured legendary artist such as Dottie Rambo, The Crabb Family, Michael Combs, and several others. NG was nominated at 2007 NQC's Diamond Awards for Sunrise Group of the Year. With completion of their first tour, they disbanded.
Jonathan makes his home in the foothills of North Carolina with his parents, Bishop Roger Cox jr. & April Cox. He currently is traveling back and forth between NC and Nashville. His father pastors The Globe Church in Collettsville, NC. His mother owns one of the best graphic and website design companies in the business Heavenly Heritage Design.(www.heavenlyheritagedesign.com.)
Jonathan and his background vocalist completed the 2008 Summer tour: The Chapter Three Tour: Beyond the Dirt. It was a fresh approach in presenting the gospel, preserving our planet, and living Pro-Life and green. Jonathan has added and booking several addition dates for winter/spring 08-09 Chapter Four: Encore Tour.
In 2008 (deluxe edition released in 2009), Jonathan released his first record in over 3 years entitled: Outside of Town. The record has a strong country gospel feel. The record features the industries best from musicians to writers from vocalist to producers. The Deluxe Expanded Edition version of this record features 10 original songs and 5 bonus cuts.
