My professional career began in the early 80's, I joined 'Sebastian's Men' (bad name!). We produced one single release 'Horizon/Canvas of Slaughter' produced by Gil Norton, which reached no17 in the independent charts. The band toured extensively in the UK and recorded a John Peel Session (details of the session can be found on the bbc radio 1 site). We stuck together for 3 years but gradually lost momentum and disbanded in '84.
I went on to co-form the 16 Tambourines signing a major recording/publishing contract with Arista/BMG, you can find out more about the 16 tambourines by visiting http://www.16tambourines.com. In the late 80's the '16 Tambourines' evolved into 'The Tambourines'.
The Tambourines got together in May 1990 adding two new members - Alan Gillibrand and Mark Roberts and went on to release 2 Independent singles 'You're so Beautiful' and 'She Blows my Mind'. The band constantly toured around England, adding various European dates along the way, through lack of management the band folded in late '93.
After the Tambourines fizzled out I formed 'Catapult' a powerful 3 piece, with drummer Tony Potter and guitarist Steve Chan. Our release 'Everybody Gets there in the end' can be found on the compilation album 'Tramspotting' and was adopted by a North West radio station as an England World Cup song .....until England lost! Music press at the time said we were 'small enough to fit in your pocket, powerful enough to blow the national grid', sadly Catapult disbanded 1998.
After Catapult ended, I entered into several writing projects including song writing partneship 'Elliott Davis', started a Musical Performance course for young people in Liverpool and wrote and produced music for TV and Radio.
My current projects include Catacoustic (Acoustic events see www.myspace.com/catacoustic and www.catacoustic.co.uk), Whitebridge Records on which I released 'Catacoustic Overtones' a compilation of the best unsigned Merseyside artists. You can buy the CD from either site mentioned above.
I am currently organising an Acoustic all day Festival, writing/compiling an acoustic album, the next release from Whitebridge and have several writing collaborations which will be featured on this page soon.
