They have released one single , the blistering, white hot, shock-to-the-system sensory overload "RED EYES ON" e.p. (Dental Records- Dent CD7 ). They have played a LOT of gigs. Some with the likes of Feeder, China Drum, Stiff Little Fingers, New Model Army & The Yo-Yo's, others alone or with acts too numerous to mention. They have a reputation for being 100% full-bore maniacs live. Automatic do not do half fuckin' hearted.Above all else, what lifts Automatic above the morass is soul. For all their filthy-trousered Rock & Roll dynamics and knuckle-duster Punk Rock attitude and sensibilities, they've got soul. If James Brown had grown up in Newcastle, gone out in Newcastle, lived , worked , loved , lusted , lost and fallen over pissed in the streets of Newcastle he would want to be in Automatic.They are the voice of the cocky yet self-deprecating underdog. They are the kids who were told they were too smart and lippy for their own good. They see through the bullshit and still give a shit. They love and hate to the extreme and at the same time, and all this is represented in the lyrics Weeb shouts, growls, sings and screams over rumbling bass, thunderous drums and exhilarating guitars. If you still don't understand try listening to them either whilst driving across the Tyne Bridge at full pelt at 2 a.m. or while standing with a cold beer in your hand in one of the city's darker, smokier bars - and then it all makes sense.
