PETER FRANCISBiographyPeter Francis was born, and still to this day, has his roots firmly grounded in the church. Peter’s outstanding commitment to God’s work coupled with a unique calling on his life has greatly impacted on him being taken to many heights in the realms of both the gospel and secular arenas alike. His childhood years saw him being musically involved in his father’s church ie singing and playing the musical instruments. From this humble beginning, Peter felt led to join the London Community Gospel Choir as a vocalist. The leaders of this renowned choir soon recognised Peter’s unique gift and thus proceeded to elevate him to the position of Choir Director. Peter’s term with LCGC spanned 10 years and involved ministering to diverse areas of the community together with vocally supporting both secular and gospel artists alike.These openings soon led to television appearances such as 100 Years of Gospel Music, Hallelujah Anyhow for the BBC and ‘Creation’ as screened on Channel 4. Peter’s session work also evolved and in turn created openings to work with artists such as Paul McCartney, Elaine Page, David Grant and Madness t o name but a few. He has also contributed to the production of gospel albums such as ‘Prove Me’ by IDMC, Fill My Cup by LCGC, ‘Live in London & More’ with Donnie McClurkin etc.Peter has always believed in using his talent for the progression of the gospel wherever God would lead him and to that end God began to lead him in the path of vocal training; he would often assist and direct groups such as the Inspirational Choir and other church choirs who would call on his services.Peter currently holds the position of Choir Director at the church where he worships – Ruach Ministries. Peter’s teaching experiences have grown to the extent that it now encompasses areas such as holding seminars in Birmingham and the USA together with workshops for Maranatha Ministries, Calvary Church of God, Project Music Workshops and Charis Christian Centre.Upon hearing the voice of God in 2002, Peter felt divinely led to birth a chorale with a difference. God gave him the name Jabez for the choir which means ‘pain’. This would be no ‘ordinary’ choir as it was one that would be called and ordained by God. People were not chosen for their vocal abilities, but for their life experiences and their walk with God, they were to be a people who really knew the meaning of TRUE worship. To that end, God proceeded to lead in the choosing of individuals who had been processed through the ‘pain’ that life had brought them, but who had emerged with a shout of victory on their lips.Jabez had its first rehearsal in April 2004, where God audibly confirmed the call and the vision of the group.The vision of Jabez is to bring back true Ministry into singing. Souls to be saved, strongholds defeated and torn down, deliverance through songs, singing with Angels in the heavenly realms, dynamic combination of anointing, favor, power and glory. Vessels used for the magnification of God. Submitting wholly to His will and destiny as individual and as a unit of servants; consecrated to Him alone.
