About Me

Born in Hamburg, Germany, and raised in La Paz, Bolivia. I began playing the drums at the age of 6 and haven’t lost that same joy ever since. I took formal classes when I was about 12 and during my last 4 years of high school I began to play in numerous bands in La Paz. The styles reached from Jazz, Funk, and Rock/Pop to Bolivian Folkloric music. Musicians from the Bolivian music scene that I played/recorded with include Manuel Monroy Chazarreta, Danilo Rojas, Victor Hugo Mercado, Juan Pereira, Jorge Echazú, Miguel Lara, singer-songwriter ‘K’ and also with Bolivian Rock artist Rodrigo ‘Grillo’ Villegas. Notorious appearances include the annual international Jazz festival (the “Festijazz La Paz”) for the last 4 consecutive years, as well as the most significant Music Festival "Festimusic Paceña" of 2004 with Llegas opening for Babasonicos, Grammy-winning Cafe Tacuba.
During the summers of 2002 and 2003 I went to Stuttgart, Germany to take lessons at the famous Drum Department, which offers a broad spectrum of studies for drummers of all ages.
In the summer of 2005 I began my studies in Berklee College of Music in Boston majoring in Music Business & Management and Performance. During this time I had the opportunity and great honor to study with mentors such as Francisco Mela, Dave DiCenso, Mike Mangini, Casey Scheuerell, Jackie Santos, George Garzone, Larry Finn, Yumiko Mazuoka, Dennis Montgomery III, and many others.
Performances in Boston include Cactus Rebelde at All-Asia, The Middle East Club, Paradise Rock Club, Felt Club and Avalon; Brooke Parrott and others.
After graduating from Berklee at the end of Summer 2008 I moved to Los Angeles, where I am currently pursuing my career as a Session and Live drummer. Projects that I am working with include the Adam Lasher Band, Van Nuys Music Corporation, Michelle Carter-Leis, Dick “Daddy Dewdrop” Monda, Los Einstein and many others.
Recording projects include "Superjuguetes" with bolivian Rock Group LLEGAS, "Memoirs" with Italian MATTIA DE LUCA, a demo album with BROOKE PARROTT, sampling session at Firefly Recording Studios, VIOLETTE DE BARTILLAT at Q-Division Studio, MELANIE WU and NIKOLAS BONDE at Sanctum Studios, as well as numerous Berklee MP&E student proyects with MIGUEL SEVILLA, JOY ROSTER, JOSH FOBARE, STEVEN DAGENAIS, LAURENT SALZART, NIKOLAS BONDE, WESLEY SWITZER, JULIAN SHORE, DAN CARPEL, ELIAS MEISTER, FERNANDO LODEIRO, FERNANDO BELOTTI, LUISA CAMARGO MARIANO, ALEXANDRA VREELAND, STEPHEN BREUHAUS, TARA BLUME, BRANDON POWEL, REBECCA MUIR, ALVARO KAPAZ and many others.
