Nukhet Ruacan

Nukhet Ruacan (b. 14 December 1951, Istanbul, Turkey) is a famous professional jazz singer and lecturer in Istanbul Bilgi University. Nukhet Ruacan's career started as a graphic designer in Marmara University. After realizing that singing was much more suitable for her, she left the academy and started working as a pop singer. Her deep interest in jazz music led her to specialize in the field, thus becoming one of the best jazz vocalists in Turkey. She performed in all major cities of Europe and the USA. While working as a lecturer she is still performing with both TRT big band and also with her own groups, mostly with her brother, jazz guitarist and a lecturer Neset Ruacan.
