About Me

It all started in 1999 when an old-school HC band named “d-town” was born, but after playing quite a lot of shows in Austria, Germany and Switzerland and recording a demo-cd we decided to split, because a lot of problems with our rehearsal room as well as different problems in the life of the band members brought our motivation down and several line-up changes got us further and further away from the HC-scene. But everything changed on our last show. It still was so much fun to play, to drink, to laugh together, and so many friends were there telling us to go on and not to give up, we – these days it was Simon on the drums, Stefan on the bass, Andi shouting and Chris playing the 6-string – had a big discussion about everything and came up with a new kind of a plan: As every end is a new beginning, the end of “d-town” should be the start of a new project. No scene, no narrow-minded ideologies, no forced image or lifestyle and – most important – no musical frontiers should exist in this new thing. The sound became a mixture of more and more death/black/trash-metal riffs, with blastbeats as well as sweet melodies and guitar-solos but still some “straight-in-your-face” moshparts and HC-based shouting in it. After writing a few songs different ideas for the band’s name lead to “sevenDEADLYsins” in the end. Also a 2nd guitar player seemed to be good to have a wider range for melodies on the one hand and on the other more pressure where we need it. Well, this should be the beginning of a long search including a lot of setbacks and once again the loss of our rehearsal room – until Slaven, a former member of “d-town” and still a close friend, finally joined us again and a local trash-band helped us out with a room. In 05/06 things looked bright: we found a steady home, more and more gigs were played, first merchandise articles were produced and we recorded our first demo-cd, called “…ante portas” in subsoundstudio. Unfortunately this shouldn’t last for a long time as we realised when we got kicked out of our room once again and got shocked by Chris’, our longstanding member and friend, decision to leave the band for some personal reasons. But, to speak with C. Barker, when things look at its grimmest, there’s always a light hidden at the heart of things, so we, still looking for a home, at least quickly found a substitute for him: a former school-member of Simon, called Martin, and full of motivation and energy we keep going our way…
