WHY FAITH?
A sizzling book that examines faith and the challenges people face in trying to understand and utilize it. It is a must read for those who want an advanced, revelatory, analysis and explanation of why we need faith.
Anthony Garnett Green was born August 16, 1968 in St. Louis, Mo. to Charlie and Opal P. Green. He was the third of six children. It was evident that the call of God was on his life; just a few years after he was born he struggled with excessively high fevers and eventually was believed by doctors to have meningitis. God miraculously healed him.
The passion for God, ministry and community began at a young age for A.G. Green. Bishop Charlie Green Jr. inspired his son at a young age with his power, dedication, and thrust for God, ministry and community. It was from this example that A.G. at four years old could be spotted preaching around the coffee table in the Green family home. At the ages of five and six he would eulogize bees on his front steps to the pleasure of a listening audience of neighborhood children.
A.G. Green’s career of community service would begin in his teenage years in Sikeston Missouri. His rise to prominence within the Southeast Missouri area first began when he co-founded the area’s first African American owned newspaper “The African American Informant†which sent shockwaves throughout the area. He subsequently became the NAACP President of the Sikeston Area which catapulted him to some degree of notoriety in Missouri. His uncompromising leadership coupled with his unbridled tenacity helped to improve race relations and elevated the hope of victims of discrimination. As the NAACP President in Sikeston he launched several investigations and vigorously mediated racial issues. His efforts ignited class action lawsuits and subsequently thousands of dollars were collected by justice seeking employees.
It was in 1992 that God began to speak to him about the pastoral ministry and in 1997 about starting a church. God gave him the name “Rhema Wordâ€. “Rhema†is a Greek word which means a specific, fresh, living, spoken word from the Lord. The Lord declared to him that his ministry would bring a “Rhema Word†to the masses. In October of 1998 in Cape Girardeau Missouri with six adult members Dr. A. G. Green founded the Rhema Word Breakthrough International Ministries. The church has since grown tremendously blossoming into a multi-racial congregation which ministers to the needs of the whole man. Rhema Word is currently developing numerous projects including a daycare/academy and bookstore.
Dr. A. G. Green is known for his dynamic, energetic, homiletic preaching style and operation in ministry gifts. He travels as an itinerant speaker. His international radio broadcast "Kingdom Connection" can be heard several times weekly on www.worldgospeloutreachradio.com
Dr. A. G. Green holds multiple earned degrees. He has an A.A.S in Electronics Engineering Technology, a Bachelor’s Degree in Divinity, a Master’s Degree in Theology, a Master’s Degree of Divinity in Christian Counseling and a Doctorate Degree in Theology. Pastor Green’s accolades and achievements are numerous. He has been a special guest on “Perspectives†a 30 Minute Talk Show by CBS affiliate KFVS T.V and has been interviewed frequently by area wide media. He’s been honored by The U.S Department of Justice with the Community Relations Award as a National Honoree at the First Symposium on Civil Rights in Washington D.C. He has been honored by the Daughters of Sunset with a Community Service Award, the Missouri State Senate with a Community Service Award and a resolution in his honor “Missouri Senate Resolution No. 1416 â€, Certificate of Recognition from the U.S. House of Representatives, Special Recognition for Outstanding Community Service from Weed & Seed, Special Recognition for Outstanding Leadership from the NAACP, Key to the City from the City of Sikeston Missouri and other awards too numerous to mention.
Dr. A. G. is currently the overseer of the “Rhema Word Interdenominational Fellowshipâ€. It is a fellowship of churches and ministries. RWIF provides a covering for churches and ministries while allowing them to maintain their independence.
