Rumpus

About Me

Rumpus were formed in 2000 by 15 year old Poltair School pupils Jason Hoare and Christopher Barker. With the addition of Rick 'Dillon' Barker on cardboard boxes the lineup was complete! The trio began jamming and recording which saw the release of their first album "Angry Dispute" in Januray 2001. The album featured classic songs such as "Planet of the pigs" and "I am crazy".Two months later the next album "Monkey Up-roar" was recorded and released. Songs included "Get your slippers on", "Rumpus", and "Egyptian Mucus".After about a year break from recording so the band could take their GCSE exams, Rumpus went into the studio (well, living room) to record their final album - "Feud of the Rhesus", a 20 song epic album. Highlights of the album included "Hang the carcass", "Bluefish", "The Rushing Rats" and "Granny in a tree".The album was released in 2002 to critical acclaim (In Penwithick). In 2003 due to internal band wrangles the trio split up. The problem was musical differences.A single called "Dicing with death" was recorded with the B side "Karp" and released on xmas day 2003 which was the last Rumpus music to be unleashed. Before the break up a new album was being developed but only one song was ever recorded although it has now been lost in the archives...Although Rumpus perished, a new band was formed from the ashes and dust that remained - DISTORTION!!!WWW.myspace.com/CORNISHMETAL
