Rory McConnell, BBC Radio 1 “Ran Out Of Love is easily the catchiest track to come out of the country in the last year.â€
David O’Reilly, ATL, BBC Radio Ulster“Sounds even better as a live proposition.
Get with it!â€
Joe Lindsay, BBC Radio UlsterAJ Suzuki started life as the bedroom studio brainchild of
Gregory Ferguson, the man behind dance sensation
Jupiter Ace . Off the back of his 2005 worldwide hit “1000 Years†he DJed around the world, remixing for
Data, Positiva and
Fatboy Slim to name a few. In the wake of this success, Gregory returned to his studio to create the sound of
AJ Suzuki…Now a 4 piece, AJ Suzuki has exploded onto the live scene. Local legend Kristian Nairn plays lead guitar with Stu Gowdy on synth and powerhouse Marty Jones on drums. The band received an ecstatic reception at their very first gig and are now tipped by some as the best new band in Northern Ireland.
Recent supports include Calvin Harris and Alphabeat.
At the core of AJ Suzuki is a fantastic collection of songs, both heartfelt and catchy. From the positive pop affirmations of 'Jump Start', to the edgy introspection of 'I'm An Illusion', through to the captivating declaration of devotion, 'Ran Out Of Love', these songs deserve to be sung from the rooftops.
AJ Suzuki have caused a major stir with local press and radio, with extensive play on BBC Radio Ulster,
Rory McConnell on Radio 1 and
XFM in London. The band were recently chosen to record a live session for the Radio 1 programme and are soon to make their
first TV appearance on BBC Northern Ireland’s
ATL TV. The band recently released their first single "Jump Start" on iTunes, launching the release at the Dublin Castle, Camden. With the buzz around this band building fast, 2008 is going to be a great year for AJ Suzuki!

"With sparkling synthesizer and heavens-imploring vocals, AJ SUZUKI create dazzling constellations of sound. 'Jump Start' is the star that shines brightest - nigh on perfectly realised pop, it's the sort of song that you'll want to hear again and again. However, there is much else that warrants recommendation, not least 'Ran Out Of Love' and 'Illusion'; liberallly besprinkled with melodic magic dust, they cast a dazzling spell. Brilliantly assured songwriting, AJ SUZUKI never overcomplicate matters and their electro-pop taut is streamlined and primed to race into the affections of all who hear it."
