Hi. i'm Jon Zaremba. The launch of Exceliza marks the 10 year anniversary of my first release, "Before, After, Then".
I decided to start Exceliza after facing countless rejections from nearly every label that i contacted in the past few years. After spending so much time and energy on producing "Vigilante Romance" i could not allow it to go unheard.
I will admit that starting a new label was the last thing that i wanted to do. This is not a joyous occasion for me, only a reminder that my music has failed to capture the hearts and minds of most everyone who's heard it. I make music to influence people in such a way that this world becomes more tolerable. Unfortunately, it has only become less tolerable as i have gotten older.
Therefore, as of this day, i consider myself largely a failure.
But the great thing about failure is that once you're at the bottom, there's nowhere to go but up. There is a positive energy to be found in every hopeless situation and i will capture it, load it into my Claw, and use it as a weapon against this darkness.
That being said, Exceliza exists primarily as a means for me to release my own music. I will certainly consider releasing music by others if their music is a representation of a familiar mindset. Artists of any genre are welcome to submit demos, however please understand that my immediate concern will always be for myself.
I know that there are already a countless number of independent record labels on the scene. As Exceliza grows, i would like to separate myself from all of them. Not by releasing the most cutting edge music or by creating a new trend. Exceliza will be different because of the nature of its releases...the meaning behind the sounds.
While some of it is quite imaginative, most of the world's art is either completely meaningless or purposely evil.
Exceliza will be a stoic example of righteous volition executed in art.
And who knows...maybe one day meaningful music will be trendy again!
