Since the release of her debut CD, Lemonade - a catchy collection of
rootsy, hook-filled songs written with the heart, passion and sense of
fun of a convinced, and convincing, artist - Andrea England's been a
very busy woman. Since its release, Lemonade has garnered three Nova Scotia Music Award nominations, including Female Artist & New Artist Recording of the Year, won the Pop Rock Award at the 2005 Toronto Independent Music
Awards, in addition to beingas being placed on the 1st official ballot in 7 categories - including song, album, record and best new artist - for the 2006 GRAMMY Awards.A past finalist in the John Lennon International, USA OCFF and NSAI Songwriting
Competitions, Andrea's songs have appeared on the CBS TV hit series
"Joan of Arcadia," ABC Family's "Beautiful People," and the most
recent Dawson's Creek DVD. Andrea's song "Sometimes" was the fastest
song to reach ..1 on the nationally syndicated "East Coast Countdown"
in 2005.In the past 18 months, Andrea has collaborated on many projects in addition to her own, including invitations to pitch songs to established artists as well as co-writing with developing artists. In addition, Andrea also has multiple songs featured in the upcoming feature film, "Hooked on Speedman," as well as on an upcoming soundtrack.Andrea already counts among her current and past collaborators Curtis Richardson (J. Lo), Bruce Brody (Lone Justice, U2, Maria Mckee), Andrew Fromm (Mark Anthony, BS Boys), Andy Stochansky, Daryl Burgess (Patti Loveless), Liz Rodrigues, Bryan Allen (Heart), Luke McMaster, John Keller and many others.In addition to all of this, Andrea is a captivating live performer; having shared stages with a multitude of artists, among them Gordie Sampson, Martha Wainwright, Damhnait Doyle, Ashley MacIsaac, Bruce Guthro, Liam Titcomb and many others.Between hosting a successful monthly songwriter "in the round" series in Toronto - Songwriter Central @ C'est What" and co-writing and
performing in New York (recently, at legendary Greenwich Village songwriter venues the Bitter End & the Living Room), Andrea is currently writing for her sophomore album.
