6/21/2009- Happy Father's Day to you and yours. Being a father myself, I know how wonderful the experience is and how life changing it can be. Enjoy your day, DADS!
1/18/2009 - Though it will be the 60th year broadcasting Dodger games this year,I started under the tutelage of the great Red Barber with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1950. I was only 25 when I was fortunate enough to broadcast a World Series game in 1953. I was also lucky enough to call the Brooklyn Dodgers first World Series win over the Yankees in 1955, Sandy Koufax's perfect game against the Chicago Cubs in 1965, Henry Aaron's 715th home run against the Dodgers in 1974, Kirk Gibson's miraculous home run in game one of the 1988 World Series against the Oakland A's. Good fortune, and health, much like that of a player, I have been able to stay around the game this long, thanks to fans like you.
I really love baseball. The guys and the game, and I love the challenge of describing things. I look forward to this season just as I did 59 years ago. With fear, confidence and a kids like excitement of what spring will be. This time in Arizona. Still Dodgertown!
Another season of Dodgers baseball is now behind us. From Manny being Manny to the youngsters stepping up to the plate with confidence the Dodgers excelled. They flourished like no Dodger team in 20 years despite adversity. They did not make it to the fall classic, did not get the 7 more wins they needed, but they did prove something. The Dodgers are contenders; they are a team to be reckoned with. 2008 was a magical year; just fell a little short.
What will the ball club look like for 2009? Your guess is as good as mine. They start spring training in late February in the Dodgers new spring training home, of Gilbert Arizona. With new faces, and new and new places come new hopes, new dreams and new excitement. I cannot wait. Is it February yet?********************************************************

I joined the Dodgers in 1950, were I worked alongside Radio Hall of Famer and baseball legend Red Barber. He taught me so much! From Brooklyn to Los Angeles, I have had the good fortune of watching some of the greatest players of the second half of the 20th century. I enjoyed the exploits of Jackie Robinson, Duke Snider, Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax, as well as the world championship seasons of 1959, 1963, 1965, 1981 and 1988. All of which have unfolded before my very eyes. In 1965, I brought the thrill of Sandy Koufax’s perfect game to Dodger fans everywhere. I enjoyed it more than any other single event of my professional life.
