Originally founded in 1996, the tribe of grooves has taken many shapes and sounds over the years.

We've played gigs with AIR, George Clinton & the P-funk All-stars & dubtribe. Our palette includes acid jazz, ambient, house, breaks and underground hip-hop. Whatever we're playing, improvisation and funk are two essential elements.

Band Members: From our beginnings in 1996 until now, the GrooveTribe Players took many shapes. If anything, you could say our lineup was consistently inconsistent - varying depending on the type of gig, scheduling and such. Our stable of talent is always diverse. . . coming from a wide array of musical backgrounds. Jazz, middle eastern, classical, electronic, dj, jam band, Latin, rock are some of the places where our people have come from. But all those words and genres really have nothing to do with what we do. We're just chilled out, open-minded positive people who love music. We get together to express ourselves a bit and also to just let go and have fun. Some of our past players: Loralee Geil(original Wise Monkey Orchestra vocalist), Deidre Radford & Mark Matson(Sipping Soma), Ralo(Earth Mother Mind-jam), Mike Ricci(bass), L3go, Soloman and Emile. The only two current members who were active in the group's early years are Eric Zang(middle eastern instrument master) & Jas(trombone, saxes, electronics, vocals) .The rest of our current lineup is Chuck Funk(beatmaster ), the soulful vocal vibrations of Tatyana Koziupa(aka Melotronix) & the legendary MR Puma MC(Trike, Bombshelter DJ's).Also we must give love and a firm smack on the buttocks to Justin for helpin us out with sound, Joey Deep-adova for letting us do our thing at Homme and Charlie Pabst, tech-maestro and cool cat extraordinaire.
