Born to a Puerto Rican Minister in Jamaica, Queens. Angelina's voice was blessed with soul from the church, and songs from the streets. Her influence went from Aretha Franklin & Stephanie Mills to the hip hop influence that surrounded her growing up in the area where Salt & Pepa, LL Cool J and Run D.M.C. came from. There was no shortage of music and culture where she was raised and hung out from the Coliseum and Jamaica Ave to the summers she spent in Mount Vernon at her aunt's house. Unlike most spanish girls she loved soul music stemming from the fact that soul came from church and that's where she had to be three days of the week. She grew up singing in choirs and sang for the Grammy award winning "Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir", as well as traveled and toured countries like Brazil with "Mt. Moriah Baptist Choir". She has worked with many other artists doing background and reference vocals, as well as hooks. Not just a singer but a songwriter as well, her songs are an infusion of metaphors that merge the streets with love and spirituality. Her love and talent for singing is matched with the same intensity for her writing. An original, not typical R&B or Neo-Soul. She touches on many genres, but her lyrics make her one of a kind. She has seen the in's and out's of the business and like most artists hates it, 'but the passion for the music keeps you going", she states. Her life and experiences play a big role in her songs, she wants to make songs that people can feel and relate to, because to her, music is a gift from God not to be taken lightly but to use to soothe, enlighten, relate, teach, ignite love, release hurt, inspire, heal, create life and fill hearts with joy in a world that is filled with so much pain, music is our soul's release. All she wants when you listen to her music is to listen not only to her voice, but to her words.
