About Adam Scramstad
Adam is an Acoustic & Electric Finger-style & Blues Musician, born and raised in Oregon. Performing regularly throughout the Pacific Northwest, Scramstad’s reputation as a professional Blues Guitarist & Vocalist is rapidly becoming widespread.
A strong and creative Songwriter in his own-right, Scramstad’s repertoire also covers a broad range of Early American Folk/Blues artists’ works – such as: Son House, Bukka White, Mississippi John Hurt, Rev. Gary Davis, Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy, Lightning Hopkins, Blind Blake, John Fahey, Elizabeth Cotton.
2006 marked the release of Scramstad’s debut album of Solo Acoustic Guitar music entitled "No Sun Around Blues". The CD was a mix of Acoustic Blues (w/vocal) & Finger-style guitar songs, and quickly became a favorite of local NW Radio Stations:
KRVM 91.9 FM – Breakfast With the Blues
KLCC 89.7 FM – Blues Power
KBVR 88.7 FM – Peggy Darling Show
KINK 106.3 FM – Sunday Night Blues Show
Adam’s music also regularly receives National and International airplay. He has been featured (as a "Blue Blood”) on the Nationally Syndicated “Blues Deluxe Show”. His 2006 Debut CD “No Sun Around Blues” climbed to 33 on the Roots Music Radio Blues Chart - June 2006.
2008 sees Scramstad signed to the fresh new Roots & Blues Label “PsycheDelta Records”. Adam’s highly anticipated follow-up CD “Down the Muddy Creek Blues” is slated for early 2008 release.
Although he maintains a focus on Solo Acoustic Delta Slide & Country Blues (both vocal and instrumental), Adam also performs with Blues Guitar Legend Terry Robb (Adam’s Producer & Mentor)– as an Acoustic Duo as well as slinging electric guitar in the acclaimed Terry Robb Band.
What people are saying:
"he plays a driving kind of solo acoustic blues reminiscent of another Oregonian, the late John Fahey" - "guitar playing is quite good throughout - clean and acoustic"
- Gary Whitehouse, The Green Man Review
"tasty old-time guitar"
- Jake Tenpas, Corvallis Gazette Times
"What an amazing duo!" (Acoustic Duo w/ Terry Robb)
- Oregon Coast Today
"If you have never seen Adam Scramstad before, I highly recommend you check him out. He is somebody you’re going to be hearing a lot more about in the future for sure!!"
-Greg Johnson, President Cascade Blues Association
Whether performing driving - authentic Solo Acoustic Finger-style Blues, or blistering Electric Blues w/ the Terry Robb Band… Adam Scramstad, is a fine guitarist/performer that is well worth experiencing.
