I was educated at Plymouth's Public Secondary School for Boys. I joined Birmingham City as a schoolboy, and made my debut appearance for the first team in 1970, aged just 16.I was then signed by Nottingham Forest for £999,999 but taxes caused it to rise to £1.1 million making it the first 7 figure amount spent on an English footballer.I played other clubs such as Crystal Palace and Qpr, i also went into football management at Birmingham City.I have a lovely wife called Helen, and at present working for Sky Sports
