At the young age of 10, Troy James also known as Troy Jamz got involved with music by starting to record at his uncle’s studio with his cousin. Over the years his passion for music just grew stronger and music became a great part of his life. Now after 12 years of finding himself and getting to understand his own capabilities, Troy has finally found the perfect equilibrium between rapping and singing to become one of the most versatile artist of today.
Troy Jamz was born September 4th 1986 on the tropical island of Trinidad & Tobago. At the age of 4, Troy and his mother Vashti Lynis Robinson, moved to Stockholm, Sweden. Sweden became their home for quite some time. But as Troy grew older, unanswered questions about his father began to trouble him. So his mother decided that Troy should spend some time with his father Carlos James who lived in Newark, New Jersey. So Troy moved out to the states and enrolled into University Highschool which he graduated from year 2005. After 3 years of high school and spending time with his father Troy headed back to Sweden again to pursuit a career in the music industry.
Troy is often described as multitalented, since he doesn’t only sing and rap, he also writes lyrics and produces to himself and others. Since he began to take his music seriously, Troy has been involved in several music performances and projects. The last years he’s been performing at places like ung08, Hoodsfred, SummerJam (club) and O’learys. He has also been on a TV show called “Lime @ Oumie”, where he was interwieved about his, at that time, new track “One single day” and his music career in general. Otherwise Troy has made a lot of apparences on various mixtapes, like Fidel Cashflow..s “Year of the hustler”, Dj Green Lantern..s “Monster Mash Mixtape”, J-son..s “Smoke Mixtape” and Rawmusic..s “Rawmusic vol. 1”. He has also dropped his own mixtape “Sexrayvision Mixtape”, where he has collabos with artist like Eugenius, TDP (That Dude Prince), Arian, Luwam and D-tyme. The mixtape includes favourite tracks like “One single day”, “Never change”, “Summer” and of course “Sexrayvision”.
Right now Troy is working on his first album, “Skitzo”. Which will feature other great artists like Esha and Eugenius and beats by Large Money Entertainment. The album is expected to be dropped at the end of this year. It will include hits like “What you want”, “Diva” and the latest track “How Am I Supposed to Know”. This album is guaranteed to be a banger! A video has also been shot for the track “What you want”, and has been highly anticipated by the public. The video will also be dropped at the end of the year.
When Troy isn't working on his music he works out at the gym, hangs out at the basketball court with his friends or just spends time with his girlfriend. Most of the inspiration to his songs come from other people or experiences, but sometimes also from just one word that triggers him to start writing. The purpose of his music is to reflect his feelings and send a message. He wants to give people the same feeling that he gets when he listens to people like Michael Jackson or DMX, where you can hear the passion in every song.
