At the tender age of 6, Shamira began singing at the church pastored by her father in Freeport, Texas. From the moment that she lifted the microphone to her lips, she knew that all that she wanted to do for the rest of her life was to sing for God. Shamira has sang background vocals for many prominent gospel singers including Bishop Paul S. Morton, William H. Murphy, Kim Burrell, Kathy Taylor-Brown, and Rod Lumpkin. She was also chosen to sing on the 2005 Stellar Awards with Bishop Morton. Shamira will also be featured on the upcoming release by Adrian Medearis & GAP. Currently, Shamira is the praise and worship leader for Dr. Joshua Stewart at Cathedral of Truth. Shamira is currently working on her debut album tentatively titled, "The Journey" due to be released Fall 2007.
