About Me

Me=lost and then found and then lost again...far away, deep inside, wishing the layers could disappear faster and let me the hell out.

My Interests

Food--I love good food, and wine, and sorbet. Art, especially modern art and photograpy. Birthing...being with women when they give birth is pretty incredible, my bike (I missed it over the winter), dancing, music, dinner parties, films especially at theatres that sell herbal tea in mugs, well-written magazines, taking baths, I dig the beach and I dig gardening.

I'd like to meet:

people who don't fit their stereotype, those who will surprise me...nice people.

Music:

Just came back from Hillside music festival with new music that I love. Erin McKeown, Kate Schutt, Xavier Rudd, Buck 65, po'girl, the stars, weakerthans...there was so much good music, i've forgotten all my other favourites for the moment.

Movies:

Anything by director Baz Luhrman(n?), Garden State (plus it's soundtrack)The Village, Dinner Party, Stand By Me, Mary Poppins, My Fair Lady, Dirty Dancing 1 and 2. Favourite documentary: Library Cats. Plus anything that plays on TBS on Sunday afternoons with Meg Ryan and an old jazz soundtrack.

Television:

I've been without tv for 3 months and loving it. Saw a commercial on someone elses tv for lavender-vanilla fabric softener...felt out of the loop but good too. I don't need fabric softener.

Books:

I read a lot of textbooks (for school), which is good. But, the most recent non-fiction, non-textbook that I've enjoyed... anything by Australian author, Tim Winton, "The Kite-Runner", Down Under by Bill Bryson. magazine favourites: BUST, Bitch, Utne reader, national geographic. i also like reading maps.

Heroes:

People who risk personal or social isolation in order to stay true to their beliefs, ideals, ethics...

My Blog

second "about me"

Suddenly I don't have enough time for self-reflection and I am missing that. I hate feeling as though huge amounts of time have passed me by, without me really feeling as though I've lived. I'm less...
