About Me

Judging a book by it's cover is tricky buisiness - especially when the cover changes every couple of days. The cover is more like a pinhole-sized window.
Here goes... I'm an art/media student from.. *cough*.. IN Knoxville. I'm passionate, feeling, and uncompromisingly real - and desire company that's the same. I'm sensitive and quite empathic - I find a sense of purpose in helping those in emotional or social need. I'm a psychologist, philosopher, sociologist, and culturalist by hobby, always finding a lesson in things, always attempting to learn from experiences and improve my life - as well as the lives around me. I'm a nature-nerd obsessed with the beauty of the world... I love art and music, and cherish good open conversation. I love to whistle, and when alone I sometimes sing. I'm far more concerned with the state of human society as a whole than I am with what some worthless celebrity is doing. I'm far more interested in bringing global corporations crashing to the ground* than making money. I'm far more interested in sharing my love with other forms of life than broadcasting my personal worth. I want to make films and mass media programming that teach values of life and love, and that spread real education. I want to see the human race outgrow greed and meism. Selfishness is for the fearful and blind.
When it comes to the human race... You may say I'm a dreamer... but I'm not the only one.
When it comes to living my life, however - I'd prefer to live than dream. :)

*(When I say bring global corporations crashing to the ground, I more accurately mean their current policies of handling their position. Global corporations have the potential to be the biggest blessing the human race has ever experienced from its own labor. Global corporations have the resources to SAVE THE WORLD! - But right now their primary role is to bleed the Earth and all its peoples dry, funneling their life's essence into the already fat pockets of disconnected, neurotic, sociopathic Oligarchs. Fuck those guys!)

My Interests

Life, Love, Nature, Art, Music, (all the same aren't they?) ...computers, old things with unknown histories... such as old buildings and sentimental photos from times past. Whee!

I'd like to meet:

Someone honest and interesting... high standards, I know. ;) Someone to talk to would be enough. :)It would really make my day if I could find folks with which to share mutual, unconditional, and meaningful appreciation. You know... a no-bullshit sorta thing.

Music:

I love music itself... I make no judgements on a genre, only the talent. I tend not to gravitate towards country or gangster rap too much though... although I've been known to listen to both. I love Queens of the Stoneage, Sublime, Stopsign Asshole, Mossy Jaw, Johnny Cash, The Misfits, Peter Gabriel, Enya, Deep Forest, NoFX, Bob Marley, PM5k, The Beatles... I'll save space by saying "etc...."

Movies:

The City of Lost Children, Metropolis (1927), Amalie, Lock-Stock, Snatch, Boondock Saints, Donnie Darko, The Transporter, Mean Machine, Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction, Pi, Clockwork Orange, Jacob's Ladder, Army of Darkness, Little Nemo, and a bunch of dorky anime stuff like Metropolis (2001). But the true film involes few of that... just ask Professor Magden.

Television:

The History Channel, Discovery, TLC... you know - the channels that TEACH instead of SELL. The occasional adult swim is a joy, too.

Books:

The Cheating Culture, Choosing White Collar Crime, Corporate and Governmental Deviance, Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, The Support Economy... (Damn right, I'm COMIN' for you BITCHES in D.C.!)

Heroes:

Douglass Rushkoff, Howard Zinn, Dr. Fagelson, Lewis Carroll (Charles Dodgeson), Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens), Tim Burton, Brad Hutchinson, Marvin Tadlock, my Aunt Hope, my Uncle Lee, my mother, and my father.

My Blog

Baby birds and the meaning of life...

Yesterday, my grandfather came into the house clutching a tiny baby bird. From the feathers I'd seen in the yard, I assumed it had been orphaned earlier that day. I tried to feed the little bird, bu...
