We are a group of committed volunteers who work hard to protect a colony of harbor seals who have, for some inexplicable reason, decided to bless the often elitist town of La Jolla with their presence. To be fair, most La Jollans are actually good-hearted people who can see, plain as anyone else with 2 eyes and a working brain, that there is over 70 miles of coast in San Diego for humans, and just one tiny beach for the seals.Unfortunately, there exists a small group of spoiled jerks who would ruin this wonderful place for everyone else, including children who travel from all over the world to see these wild animals in their natural habitat. Each day these few selfish individuals invade this small beach and scare off the seals, or prevent them from being able to haul out comfortably. It is a very, very sad sight, when old retired men behave like bratty children who see a piece of candy they want in a supermarket, stomping their feet and making a pathetic scene. Please help support these seals! Humans already use the other 70 miles of coast in San Diego...is it really so much to ask that the seals have one beach to themselves?
