The mix-tape features guests appearances by La Coka Nostra's CeeKay, Lady Love and Daddy X of Kottonmouth Kings and offers fans their first taste of the Dirtball's upcoming third solo album, "Crook County", which lands in stores on May 13th, 2008 through Suburban Noize Records.
"DJ Bobby B of the Kottonmouth Kings and I had an opportunity on the Heavy Hitters tour to weave and lace together a super fresh mix of both old and new songs of mine. It's a perfect blend of my tracks and allows my fans to hear four or five samples of songs off the new record, 'Crook County,'" says the Dirtball. "Bobby B worked his magic on this in the back of the tour bus, and I am stoked to let my fans get a taste! Dive in, Download, and turn it up!"
After wreaking havoc on the road with everyone from Tech N9ne and Insane Clown Posse to Sugar Hill Gang and Rahzel of The Roots, Dirtball is stepping into the spotlight with the release of his third solo album, "Crook County". Hailed by PopMatters as "a sharper-edged Big Boi," Dirtball has taken his accelerated rhyming skills to new heights with an album packed with irresistible hooks that can dazzle fans of Southern Rap (Ying Yang Twins, Lil Jon), battle mainstream heavyweights (Twista, Lupe Fiasco), or stands toe-to-toe with underground legends (Tech 9ne, or Insane Clown Posse).
Inspired by the beauty of his home state and his love of creating music, "Crook County", is also backed by an explosive line-up of powerhouse collaborations. The album features the breathtaking melodies of Lady Love, the psychedelic rhymes of Kottonmouth Kings Daddy X, LaCoka Nostra's CeeKay drops some East Coast grime, while Psychopathic Records' Boondox closes the album with some rock flavor on what will surely become an instant underground classic.
"This record to me is another huge step in the progression of the Dirtball, that came alongside a heavy touring schedule. I wrote a lot of these tracks on the road, and the experiences that rolled with it, and they definitely come out in the album. The title, 'Crook County', stems from the area I live and where I raised hell growing up," says the Oregon based rapper. "The record itself has an outlaw attitude about it, and represents me very well. I spread my vocal patterns out in different ways, but still maintain a lightning speed presence on certain tracks like 'Phantom Power', and 'Pitspit'. This album is my best work thus far, and I am anxious for my fans to soak it in. Sub Noize 4 Life!!"
