GENEVIEVE WINS THE JUDITH JOHNSON AWARD FOR BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A MUSICAL AT THE 2008 SYDNEY THEATRE AWARDS ......... Genevieve Lemon, well known and loved by Australian audiences, has a long list of credits to her name. While working predominantly on stage, her TV credits include Neighbours, Prisoner (Cell Block H), The Young Doctors, Seven Deadly Sins, Three Men and a Baby Grand, After the Beep, The Money or the Gun, Always Greener, and Mermaids. Film credits include The Piano, Sweetie, Charlottes Web, Holy Smoke, Suburban Mayhem, Soft Fruit, The Water Diary, The Well, Billy's Holiday and more. She has just finished performing in the long running stage production "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert - the Musical" and is now playing Mrs. Wilkinson in "Billy Elliot - The Musical". Genevieve has performed as a singer on stages all over Australia, and last year recorded her first album with her band.
This nine piece outfit features an eclectic assortment of musicians who individually have played and/or recorded with some of the world's finest - Crosby Stills and Nash, Wiley Reed, Bob Dylan, Emmy Lou Harris, Jenny Morris, Lee Kernaghan, Sting, Wendy Mathews, Tony Bennett, Andrew Strong's Commitments Band. The band originally formed to back Genevieve in concert at the Sydney Opera House, where they recorded "Angels in the City - Live at Bennelong Point".
