Tommy, Michele, Mario and Daniele start rehearsing as an instrumental combo in September 2001, finding later, during the first months of the following year, the contribution of Claudio’s voice: a very Hot Butterfly was born!! From the very beginning, a strong friendship and a special alchemy starts to take shape among the band members, and the first original tunes see the light.
At the same time, the band starts to take part in contests and to hit various local clubs. At the end of 2002 Claudio quits to finish his studies, and the band’s activity goes in “stand by” mode for a few months. Than a new singer, Max di Marco, enters the line-up, singing with Hot Butterfly until 2004, when Claudio is welcomed back in the crew.
Meanwhile the sound of the band, a very hot kind of hard rock with progressive interludes and a little funk attitude, starts to get noticed!! Hot Butterfly takes part in Heavyshow’s “Red Rock Festival” and in two editions of “Emergenti Live”, each time the compilation of the event has featured one of their songs (“A Reason” and “The Awakening”).
Before eventually finding their own dimension, the band has explored different musical territories, and a lot of tunes were (home) recorded, witnessing this evolution: some can be defined as melody oriented prog rock, some are heavier, some more on the funky side, some others straight hard rock…. four of them, the more Hot Butterfly sounding, are now included in the new 2006 Demo!!

Gli Hot Butterfly nascono nel settembre 2001 come formazione strumentale, trovando poi l’apporto di Claudio Brembati alla voce durante i primissimi mesi dell’anno successivo. Già dalle prime prove insieme va formandosi fra tutti i componenti del gruppo una grande amicizia e una speciale alchimia, grazie alla quale vedono la luce i primi pezzi di composizione propria.
Gli Hot Butterfly cominciano nello stesso tempo a proporre la loro musica dal vivo, suonando in diversi locali e anche nell’ambito di vari concorsi. Quando, alla fine del 2002, Claudio abbandona il gruppo per completare gli studi, l’attività dell’ormai quartetto subisce un pesante periodo di stop forzato. Nel 2003 un nuovo cantante, Max Di Marco, entra a far parte della line-up, e i rinati Hot Butterfly partecipano all’importante contest bergamasco “Emergenti Live” (con il monicker “Inward Eye”), il brano “A Reason” viene incluso nel CD compilation della manifestazione.
Gli anni recenti vedono il gradito ritorno di Claudio alla voce, la seconda partecipazione a “Emergenti Live”, accompagnata da critiche positive e da un notevole interesse da parte della giuria, nonché la recente esibizione al “Red Rock Festival”, organizzato dall’agenzia milanese Heavyshow.
Nel corso degli anni, prima di trovare una propria dimensione, il gruppo ha esplorato territori musicali differenti, andando dal prog rock melodico, al funky, all'hard rock... Lo stile Hot Butterfly è stato coniato proprio a partire da queste materie prime, per averne un assaggio ascoltate il nuovo Demo2006!!
