Forty6&Two

About Me

A dark façade hides inquisitive eyes watching as the dj works his trade with his rectangular instruments.
From that moment on Forty6&Two, while unaware, began. MarkoJux, one half of the Forty6&Two circle, had just arrived off the plane from London and found himself standing in a club in Melbourne watching the DJ build his set and create an atmosphere on the dancefloor. The DJ behind the console was the second half of the circle, Lance Harrison.
From this point on the two friends found equilibrium, sharing many tastes in life, none more than their passion for music. Lance & Mark thrived off the sounds and visuals of the deeper, darker more sinister side of life.
Through the years they patiently learned their craft and evolve their sound listening to artists such as Tool, Mr Bungle, Fantomas, Richie Hawtin, Bern, SCSI-9, Brian Aneurysm, Jeremy Caulfield, Steve Bug and many more. These influences would play a part in helping to mould the Forty6&Two sound. Forty6&Two’s sound is one of dark hypnotic undertones, deep rumbling basslines and lost quirky noise. A sound that plays with your senses and your mind, making you want to hear it again in case you missed something.
Forty6&Two’s releases have already made their way into the Australian underground scene with their tracks being played by Melbourne’s elite; Gavin Keitel, Dave Pham, Phil Smart & Mike Callendar at parties such as Sunny and Honkytonks with amazing reactions. They have also enjoyed airplay on Melbourne’s Number One dance music station, Kiss FM and as part of the Red Bull Music Academy show.
Though just a small spark on the ever growing worldwide dance scene, Forty6&Two intend to shine brightly, showing their peers they have what it takes to make their mark on the underground dance scene. Mark & Lance aren’t about becoming famous, making the big money; these guys just want to earn the respect from ones that have carved the road ahead of them and have people enjoy their music. With a small amount of tunes under their belt, the conception keeps growing level by level. Keep an eye, and ear, out for this up and coming Melbourne duo, dark things are coming!
