Ok, I've been around for a while but its fair to say that of all the people I've jammed with over the years, I'm one of the few left that still has the burn for music. I've been in several bands - 3 versions of Return Ticket all with Peter Williams, Amazon, China White (original Adelaide version), Ken Noath Ockerstra , Bay Lunchcutters Trio, The Lunchcutters feat. Diane Dixon (first Adelaide version), Yeah Yeah feat. Wendy Taylor (original Adelaide version) and Chant.

I get a mention in the books "The Who's Who of Australian Rock 2nd ed" and "It's Our Music". I've recorded several times and been on a few that were actually released (1 charted in Adelaide ), and I've been in a few video clips (see my pictures for a snap of one).

I’ve now got a spot on a Poco Tribute compilation CD “Down to the Wire” with a whole bunch of other international musos doing a cover version of Poco’s most popular song (in the U.S. ) “Crazy Love”. You can get it from http://www.futuredge.com

So what do I do musically now? I think a lot about being in a band again but like I say in one of my songs “time is the fire in which we all burn”. I still go through phases of recording (in my home "studio") and then doing not much at all. After so many record company offers in the past I figure its time to put my work out for free!!!! No apologies for the quality either - I've never had the time for polishing up. I wouldn't mind an artist choosing one to record though.

Please contact me if you'd like to cover one .

OK then MySpacers, if you haven’t had a squizz at my YouTube vids at; http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=kym+groves&s earch_type=&aq=f ....... do yourself a favour and give “I’m Happy” a crack. Here it is to save you a mouseclick.

: : I'm busy working out a one man band (sans any midi cheating) except I reckon I might need a drummer or get a mad scientist to turn me into an octopus! :

Influences:

Rock/ pop music with strong melodic overtones.: : U2, Cold Chisel, Simple Minds, Evermore, Toto, Richard Clapton, Jet, Paul Kelly, Eric Clapton, Grinspoon (how's my old wurli going Pat?), The Wallflowers, The Police, Kings of Leon, Stars (Andy Durant... great songs, Mick Pealing... great voice), Goanna, Poco, Joe Cocker, Joe Walsh, Deacon Blue, Simple Minds, Queen, Stereophonics, Sharon O'Neill, Ray Charles, Boston, Robert Cray, ACDC (Bon Scott version), George Harrison, Johnny Cash, Dragon (New Zealand a la Marc Hunter), Ben Harper, Beatles (goes without saying) :

Sounds Like: No sure - I hope I don't sound like anyone else and at the same time not sound like crap. A work colleague says I sound a bit like Crowded House - not sure about that.
I'd like to hear for more punters to see what they think!
