BIOGRAPHY
For the last 15 years Sebastopol, has mixed for numerous clubs, parties, and events, not only in France, but also abroad. Deeply influenced by black music, hip-hop and the music of the eighties and Especially by Dj Miloch and Urban Sound , he discovered electronic music in 1989 by listening to a certain Laurent Garnier, who was at that time almost unknown and returning from "the hacienda of Manchester" with the House revolution...
1991 Sebastopol started playing at underground parties around Annecy ( fr ) Lyon and Grenoble alongside Famous french Djs like Dj Miloch, Miss Kittin, Garfield
In 1994 with Alex K at a well-known House club in Annecy called Happy People. There he met Teo Morritz, who helped him organize a structure of booking and production: their project was called "Global Sound".
Very quickly his hypnotic, minimal, no-concession style allowed him to mix every week-end... at that time Sebastopol also played for the first time in Switzerland.
Two years later he played with John Aquaviva and Phillipe Zdar at the Amplitudes Festival in Annecy. Then came "Electric Partys", where he played along side Jack de Marseilles and Stephanovitch.
As a DJ, Sebastopol displays precise sound work as he creates a well-crafted spell of hypnotism. One can _ t help but notice a certain melancholy in his sets, but with it he brings an energy which nonetheless makes the dance floor explode.
In 1996, Phonic, a structure of production, was launched and this led Sebastopol to perform in a slew of gigs for the 3 years which followed. In 1998 his serious work as a promoter allowed him to be the experimental floor manager for "Metropole Techno" in Paris Bercy,a show which was produced by M6 Television and Futuria Productions.
Since then Sebastopol has been playing everywhere in France and abroad, with famous Djs such as, Oxia, Miss Kittin and The Hacker or Manu the Malin He was the closer for the Spanish Film Festival in Annecy.
In 1999 he discovered the southern hemisphere for the first time before a Mauritius island Tour .The same year he played for the Atlantis Festival in Lausanne and the Lake Parade of Geneva
The same year, he performed with Dan Curtin, Mike Dred and Dmx Crew from Rephlex label.
His artistic sensitivity led him to collaborate with his friends Miloch and Alex K, also known as the famous French electronic Duo "Lake soul" authors of the title "Quelques chose se passe".
He in particular was credited for the lyrics of "Sans Interdit" which was released on the label Sekence.
2000 Sebastopol mixes for a party called Highway in Geneva, and, more importantly, joins Tekmics (a successful n French booking agency) to ensure the promotion and the production of the Label. With Dj Miloch, his label produces Inter alia, Youngsters ( Now on F-com ), Agoria, Strat as well as Garfield and Moise on the Eargasm label. 2001 Dj Miloch and Sebastopol arrive for a one month round on Reunion Island. Here, the shows are a triumph and Sebastopol discovers a place and a way of life which is very alluring to him as Dj Globe trotters.
Since then he has maintained his connection with the island, always turning up for the best events, while playing very regularly in Europe. In 2002 he opens in grand form for the International Cartoon Film Festival in Annecy.
2003 he returns to the best club in Mauritius, "El diablo," for 3 unforgettable dates.
2004 on Reunion Island he mixes for the first time with Colin Dale and then flies away for Ibiza, where he spends the summer and performs at Line-UP and Sound Beach on playa d'Em Bossa.
2005 he moves to Reunion Island and plays with Darren Price at the 1st anniversary party of the club Bug Bar.
2006-2007 Dj Sebastopol as performed in the most famous parties at reunion's and currently works in the studio preparing the first productions on his Label: StereoClub Records
