'Fire' by CHRISPAdd to My Profile | More VideosABOUT ME: I've been playing & writing music since my early teens. Though I really enjoy "jamming" & working on songs with others, I also love that frenzied, "in-the-zone", helplessly falling & falling feeling, when I'm molding 3 - 5 minutes of silence into... well, into something else. lol Though literally painful at times, the process of recording the different instruments & vocals can be such an incredible rush, especially when you figure the "flow" of that specific guitar riff you wanted so badly or take that vocal to just the right note at the right time (both of which, are unfortunately not nearly as often as I'd like). I've always felt there will never be the "perfect" song. If there was, there wouldn't be any reason for anyone else to record anything new. But the thought of possibly creating a song that is so close to "perfect" for even one person's situation or emotion... at one brief moment of their life... even if its only my own, is really the only reason why I do it. Truthfully, I haven't played out except for a few parties since high school & a talent show way back in tenth grade that was... less than satisfying. Perhaps I will sometime but like I said, that's not why I do it. Hell, I rarely play songs I've already recorded after the recording's done. I listen to them, sure. A lot in fact, but I'm always searching for that next & hopefully different rhythm riff, that next "close to perfect" line of lyrics & the melding of them together into an emotion laden sculpture that someone might relate to equally as much as I did when I gave it life. Too deep? Too bad. :)---------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ 'That's Where You Are' is dedicated to the memory of my mother, Vicki D. Prentice, an incredible pianist, soulful singer & a best friend who was the one who taught me what that song & life are really all about. "No matter where I go, that's where you are."
