About Me

I have loved singing and music for as long I can remember! My parents played a lot of Jazz, Easy Listening, Swing, Folk, and Country and Western records when I was little, and they also played the Piano, so there was always music playing in our house and I grew up listening to all those wonderful influences. My mother, who is now in her 60's still teaches dance, my step-father plays the Accordion, Banjo and Harmonica. My 19 year old daughter plays keyboards, bass & lead guitar as well, so I guess you could say we are a very musical family really!I heard Dark Side of the Moon, by Pink Floyd for the first time when I was around 7 years old - a teacher played it to us one afternoon - and since then I have loved all types of Rock Music, but I listen to loads of different stuff, and love discovering new things musically.

I was also lucky enough to sing "Cavelleria Rusticana" and "Carmina Burana" with a full vocal choir at the Royal Albert in London, when I was only 11! I also sung in a few musicals and stage productions when I was at school and college.
I have sung lead/backing vocals with various bands over the years too - I've sung everything from jazz/funk and blues to Led Zep covers and Punk songs!
I have helped out doing backing vocals on studio demo's for a few musican friends over the years and have also also won a few talent contests and Karaoke nights along the way - I love getting up in the spotlight and performing for an audience - Give me water or wine and I'll get up and sing anything for you!
A full-time career in music of some kind might have been on the cards had I not got married quite young, had a family and gone down a few other career paths - such as teaching English and Drama - but after I got divorced and recovered from what might have been a fatal head injury sustained in an accident, I decided to throw caution to the wind and give up my teaching career to pursue some of my life long ambitions and dreams! In the last 5 years I have worked very hard to acheive my goals, I have been a succesful freelance model, and still do a bit of work part-time in that area. I also run a free music website, which has become very popular and has opened other doors for me. I got into doing freelance music journalism, and gig photography, and now run my own sucessful PR and Publicity Agency, working for other singers, bands and small record Labels.
I am throwing caution to the wind (and probably going get the piss taken out of me something rotten by my mates!), but I've put my music demo's up here to try and get some work as a backing/session vocalist or to possibly work with some London based singer/songwriters or bands....who knows what will come of it? I'm certainly not looking for fame and fortune - I just want to enjoy singing and if I make a little bit of money at it and enjoy myself into the bargain, then great...but for now I'm just enjoying being able to do what I love for a living....working within the music industry whilst promoting great artists and writing about good music and interesting bands............and recording my own stuff in my spare time.
The songs on here are very rough and ready cover versions! I recorded them on my own recording software at home, in one take, so the sound quality is not what you would get in a proper studio and they not mixed or "messed about with" at all ! I've just put the songs up here as a rough sample of the sort of things I enjoy singing, just incase someone out there thinks I might be suitable to do session work, backing vocalist work, or fancies collaborating on anything in the future.....I really would love to find a locally based guitarist and songwriter to do some folk / blues/ acoustic duets with, or to write or record some original material and maybe do a few local gigs with in time.....please email me if you are interested in this!
If any one wants to get in touch to offer me some work, or just to make contact with me, please feel free! and if anyone wants to make any postitve comments, download the tracks, or give me some feedback, again it is most appreciated......just be nice or constructive in your critisism please.....thanks.......my motto is that life is too short not to give anything a go! !
