I am a graduate of UC Irvine with a degree in political science and a minor in conflict resolution. I grew up in Los Angeles and spent my early childhood living under two republican presidential administrations, and a republican gubernatorial administration. It is this first hand experience with borrow and spend economics which has lead me to put such a high value on fiscal responsibility. In recent years many have argued that speaking out against the president is unpatriotic. In response I have argued for an idea best articulated by Wesley Clark, "that democracy demands discussion, disagreement, and dissent. There is nothing more American - nothing more patriotic -- than speaking out, questioning authority, and holding your leaders accountable."
