Here a Streaking Glimpse,As I made my way down th stairs
through the trees and onto the sand,
I could see you outta the corner of my eye.
It was my first time here,
so I was taking it all in.
As my wonder was relinquished and my curiosity satisfied
I made my way towards you.
There was no hesitation no trepidation
just a need to be submerged and glistening, dancing and splashing.
The trees were swaying and the waves were crashing
cuz the wind was whistling.
After catching my breath and appreciating my state,
I stumbled upon you again.
With the corner of my eye, I caught you.
The vision has stuck with me as
if cemented into my medial cortex.
One glance is all it took to capture
a moment in time and a state of mind.
What did I see that happens a million times
all over the world on a daily basis?
Your energy against a grey sky
showed as bright as a new star
being born against a celestial canvas.
As if a streaking meteor through a dark
winter sky in only a glimpse.
You caught my eye like a laser
beaming through the masses.
You took five or six steps
and you never looked back.
The leaps you made caused a spark
that sent a shockwave that overflowed
a cup of wonder and delight.
It was only a few steps.
It was the ferver and zest for life
and wonder and joy and happiness
that captured my eye.
It took but a few steps for me to realize
that you were special.
Those few steps were but a beginning
to a strand of promising beads
that would soon encompass me
and my entire universe
like a lasso around a shooting star.
