Careful of those who are latently two faced (seems most are). Most people I've observed proceed solely on a selfish foundation. All too often when they have a "good heart" flaunting on their sleeve... rarely does it fail when the true colors emerge as their motivations are not satisfied. Camouflaged with a deceitful smile... hyenas feed their hunger of malicious & sadistic laughter by meticulously aiming to inflict damage for self gain.
Not as many people these days but a few who are outgoing or even shy, down to earth, doesn't think they're better than others because they were born into money or recently came into power, & has something interesting to talk about. "Everyone is worth knowing; everyone we meet are fighting their own battles & have stories to share but be weary of those who break your heart," are cheap, selfish, & inconsiderate. I just want to hear all their stories & spend at least a few hours in their company. =) Also be careful of those who are selfishly motivated & deceiving... HOWEVER SWEET THEY MAY SEEM.
Words are cheap, those with many words are very cheap, & sweet talkers are cunningly cheap. If they're telling you something you want to hear, chances are they want something.
Whoever is in a situation where they say to you, "I'll change... I promise," should not have let it get to that point. Those words foreshadow a lie paid forward. They've been cheap, selfish, & inconsiderate. In doing so they also treat you cheaply trying to buy you with guilt & sympathy.
I have yet to observe a person who's spoken those words... and followed through. Next time someone says that to you... realize they are just words & not actions. If they could change... they would not tell you... they would show you long term, not just immediately. They just say that to make you feel sorry for them at the moment. Shifting guilt with a pinch of sympathy is a magical tool that most fall for.

I gave him a lot of grief growing up but he didn't kick me out, instead he disciplined me, TALKED to me MAN TO MAN and kept me out of trouble. He was patient and taught me some very valuable life lessons about honesty, integrity, being a man as well as a gentleman. He provided for us and showed us love. He loved and respected my mom and i liked that. I give him a lot of credit for NOT BAILING on us through hard times like a lot of fathers do.
