The Tuomas Holopainen Fan Forum!
Tuomas Holopainen is the enchanting mastermind and keyboardist of Finnish Metal band, NIGHTWISH. Nightwish is becoming ever-increasingly successsful as their albums "Once" and "Dark Passion Play" have sold Platinum, they've become a worldwide musical phenomenon! His band is made up of exceedingly talented musicians - together allowing Tuomas' vision to transform into the powerfully gorgeous symphony of Metal Nightwish has become. Tuomas refers to his songs as his dear children and rightfully so as their creator, who invests so much of himself passionately into every song. Each song an expression of his soul...he has also described his songs like his diary. We Moderators warmly welcome the new female lead vocalist (as of 2007) for Nightwish, Anette Olzon! Nightwish has transformed into its new brilliant manifestation into which Anette fits well...as the Rock goddess she is...bringing the harder Metal edge blended with a (surprisingly good!) slightly Pop sound. This new (more mainstream) sound was not welcomed initially by many loyal fans as former Tarja Turunen's operatic vocals and symphonic sounds were prefered (and still cherished by all true Nightwish fans.) However, Anette has proven herself a wonderfully versatile vocalist as she comes into her own...increasingly embraced by fans both old and new. Performing live as well her recorded performance in Dark Passion Play CD, Anette's vocals are quite impressive! DDP has achieved triple-platinum status in Finland alone, after selling more than 90000 copies! Impressive indeed. Anette has proven herself the best choice as new lead songstress for the band. It will be fascinating to observe how the music and Anette's vocals evolve within this ever-transforming magic that is NIGHTWISH. Who knows where Tuomas will take us next?!
