I am the Minister Khan, The Bad Slave aka Black Noah ( Noah was in the ark and outside was dis-believers!! ). The Dub Box Sound System's mission statement is as follow: TO PLAY ROOTS MUSIC UNTIL BABYLON FALLS !! I started out as a radio DJ at 91.5 fm in the early 90's. The name of the radio show was "The Original Foundation Reggae Show" . It was the number one reggae show in Central Florida. It was also the only 100% Roots Reggae show in town. While other DJ's played the likes of Shabba Ranking and Ninjaman ( Respect to them both ) I opted not to compromise my style and played hard roots music for 3 hrs straight. The Foundation Reggae Show Influenced many DJ's locally and they all jumped on to the Roots Train. I brought in a few DJ's to take over where I left off ( Respect Ras Trent and Sister Makedah ) and went off to meditate for awhile.Next I started producing mix tapes Inna Roots Style- My Firehouse Rockers Mix Tapes where all over town, showcasing Uncompromising Roots music on 90 minute cassette tapes- Old School Style !. They are Collectibles now, I don't even own too many myself !
In 2004 I decided to get back in to the game and did my First Mixtape with My new sound- The Dub Box Soundsystem - The Roots Official ! Along with Trini Beast ( A great Selector in his own right ! ) We played our first show in June of 2004 in Atlanta, GA, Since then It's been on and poppin !I boast the largest collection of Roots Music on the East Coast. No Sound has more Roots Music than "Da Box" We keep it Hardcore from the foundation to the present. Now we have an internet presence and mechanism to spread our vibes world wide ! I'm a selector in the vein of Jah Stitch, Jah Screw and Danny Dread, but at the end of the day I inspire to be a selector in the likes of the GREAT JAH SHAKA, an Uncompromising Roots Warrior !
