Two electronic elements playing music together since 1991.
Silicon Wafer set up in 2003, beginning as a collection of tunes made for fun, which then grew into a serious music project.
The concept was to produce groovy music, including romantic melodies and melanchonic atmospheres,
typical of some of the electromusic produced during the eighties and nineties.
The love for old electronic equipment, mostly analogue stuff, obsolete gears, abandoned synths and drum machines,
is much older than silicon wafer.
It began in the early nineties, with the acknowledgement of Commodore 64's musical potentials,
the discovery of the composition by primitive tracker softwares, first experiments of circuit bending
to generate new and more personal gears.
There is no singer/frontman, and the tracks are almost completely instrumental,the few with lyrics talk explicitly about
sex.
Simply saying that sex continues to exists all around us,in every given moment.
Neiki and Sandro have performed together in several other musical projects, one of the most important being I/Ofi,
(2001/2003) in which they composed "music for woods".
A collection of sounds inspired by middle-european woods, the tracks are without drum groove,and atmospheres are more soft and ethereal.
