TEAM DC/BALTIMORE RANKED 4TH IN THE COUNTRY AT THE 2006 NATIONAL POETRY SLAM!!!
As of September, I am now located in New York City. In between getting my Master's and working, I will be performing as much as possible, mostly because, well, it keeps me sane. I would love to come feature for your venue, as long as it isn't too far from here. Also, if you like my poems, you can take me home with you in CD form. I'm Paypal verified! Woohoo! joanna hoffman wrote her first poem at the age of three. it goes a little somethin like this: "i'm a female rainbow. yes i am." she wrote poetry obsessively throughout her teenage years, and discovered slam in college. she went to her first slam at Xando's in the fall of 2000 and has been active in the scene ever since. she was a member of the 2002, 2006 and 2007 dc/baltimore slam teams. in 2006, she performed on finals stage with her team, which placed 4th overall out of 73 teams at the National Poetry Slam in Austin. she was the Baltimore representative for the 2007 Individual World Poetry Slam, where she placed 19th out of 70-some poets. she was also the 2007 DC/Baltimore Grand Slam Champion.
ok writing in the 3rd person is weird. i love slam first and foremost because of the amazing people i have met while doing it. this is an international community of caring, talented and passionate people. i love slamming, not just for the rush of performing, but for the chance to hear other people's takes on this sweet little world we live in. if you are a poet, please add me. i love hearing new stuff. also, if you know anyone who likes slam, send em my way!
