Influences: the rev. fred lane, bongwater, ween, shimmy-disc, can, gong, eno, spacemen 3, bamcaruso, vinyl solution, the chukker, 60's psychedelic garage, the blues, barry hannah, larry brown, nepotism, too drugged to see the doctor, zero return, akai professional 4track, vocal effects, guitars, loops, off kilter drums, psychedelics, long nights, satanic muppet lice, life in tuscaloosa.
Sounds Like: During a tour when I still lived in Mobile, Dexter and garage lords the Woggles stayed at my house for a week, and I learned how much of a searcher he'd been, trying out anything in the search for self or truth: astrology, religion, whatever. The guys I ended up landing here with had a band, naturally, and soon enough, the Frydaddys played a show with the Flat Duo Jets. Going from being outsiders to being folded into the community seems like only a blink now, and it's a lasting feeling that some folks refer to as "being a lifer." —Chris Toenes
The Frydaddys were the most exciting band I’ve ever seen at the Chukker. They were equal parts sex, comedy, dementia, and danger. Thank God none of us got hurt.

have you seen the frydaddys? several different masks a show.
Never seen them, but they just moved higher on my list. I've heard
before that they're fun onstage; what's their music like? And doesn't
one of them work at the Nice Price in Carrboro? Every time I go in
when he's working (if it's the same guy), he's got the best music on
the stereo.
