The Source got into music from an early age of 14, being brought up in the traditional West Indian manner and lifestyles, where reggae was a big influence. As time passed, trend and music evolved, he then took an interest in Hardcore/Jungle techno with the aid of the old DJ Noodles mix tapes.
At 16 he started to compile his own music with the help from the much known Commodore Amiga 64 but this didn’t go well as the programme couldn’t handle the heavy bass lines that he is now known for. At 17 The Source decided to invest in his much loved turntables and vinyl, and then before he knew it, he was playing at parties and get-togethers under the name DJ Spyda. Completing a sound engineering course at college enabled him to get a job in a recording studio enhancing his skills and giving him hands on experience.
After 11 years of playing at countless amounts of clubs and events, he held his own event and with a lot of help from various artists in the D&B scene, his style of ‘Liquid Dance floor’ is becoming a success.
