I have a lot of interests and they all pretty much always escape my mind when put on the spot. I love my dog, Boofis. I'm obsessed with her. It runs in my family. My sister, on my page is Allison, is a little obsessed with her dog Zeke, who actually is on my friends list too. She didnt create that page though. I think she would find it important that I say that. I don't think Zeke updates too often, but you can try to be his friend. Except for you, lexi. I know you're out there. Anyway, I love gardening. I love gloxinias. I kill them though. I also love the traditional sort of flowers, like orchids and things, but I love some weird things too, like things that eat bugs. And killer aloe. The kind that attacks mothers. I love those! I love reading. I'm actually finishing books lately too! Usually I read five at a time and I can't finish them. So sometimes I give up on reading all together. But lately, its been cool. I love my family. We're pretty cool. Oh yeah, duh. I love art. I went to art school and I've been drawing since I was three. I can still remember the first piece I was proud of. I drew a mouth. I work on art whenever I can. I have so many favorite artists, its crazy.
Anyone who will actually give me a comment. This excludes those of you with a gagillion plus friends. As far as people to date and such, see above. But if you want to network or be my friend, that's cool. I don't usually respond to friend requests from random people without some kind of "hello message."
There are so many! I'll try to name a few. Tori Amos, Ani DiFranco, Metrix, Ladytron, Modest Mouse, Bjork, Pixies, Ben Folds, Vast, Cibo Matto, The Streets, The Rolling Stones, Hot hot heat, Nine Inch Nails, Tool, Cake, Black Eyed Peas, Beastie Boys, Rage Against the Machines, Portishead, REM, Esthero, B-A-N-A-N-A-S! [you know who you are!] Don't forget M.I.A.
I like a lot of indie films... a lot of you know, thinkers... I really do. I like flicks about struggling gay people. Documentories are cool. I recently watched two great indies: The Garden State, and Off the Map. I highly recommend them! Short films are great when you think you don't have the attention span. Oh yeah, and I LOVE movies that scare the hell out of you and then blow shit up!
This is tough because I actually stopped watching tv pretty much. Besides that, I have always loved the Simpsons. I like Family Guy and South Park a lot, but you won't see me watching them too often, unless Zak wants to watch them.
atlas shrugged, or anything else by ayn rand, book of shadows (curott's), Kabuki! (David Mack) Spiral Dance, Truth or Dare (Starhawk), for a great series of kids books try the Redwall series (by jacques) because they really stick out in my memory, and anything by Roald Dahl, Ender's Game (Orsen Scott Card), Elvenbane for fantasy, Thomas Moore's Care of the Soul, Cunt by Musacio was truly and excellent book, Tarot or Your Self, Hannibal and that whole series. I'm an avid reader, and enjoy keeping up with the news online (google is great to set that up on your own page if you're interested.) Not at all for just the kitties, and not at all the characters that come to most people's minds. Most recent books actually finished? Skinny Bitch and Kabuki: Circle of Blood. I highly recommend both! To give you an idea of what I'm. I just came back from comic con san diego, and I picked up some work by chynna clugston-major. Blue Monday and Scooter girl. I picked up wasteland. I'm actually reading a crazy cliche self help book. I guess to be nice it's an "inspirational." I won't tell you what it is though, because it's gay. I started harry potter AGAIN and maybe I'll actually read the damn thing. I'm on vol. one. Hardly into it. I grabbed other junk on my most recent vacation and it's all in a heap on my floor waiting to be digested. Comics aren ot at all for just the kitties, and not at all the characters that come to most people's minds. I'm always checking out books on my Wicca and its practices... I haven't picked up any other books though... I promise I'll get to Diet for a New America eventually. I haven't gone nuts with books lately because I've been more prone to writing. I go through phases. Maybe one of these days my favorite book will be my sketchbook. Oh, Romance? Mystery? Commputers? Never got into those. I guess I'm too busy caught up in one section of the bookstore to get over to the other. As far as Mags go, I love flaunt, paper, bust, the week, communication arts, print, how, and step, W, nylon, cabinet, new american paintings, and juxtapose. I used to drop a lot of money on magazines every month. Whoops!
Artists of all kinds, my family, my friends. All are heroes to me in one way or another.
