Although many strong women grace history as powerful rulers, perhaps none was more bold and powerful as Nzingha, Warrior/Queen of Ndongo. It is only fitting that the DJ formerly known as April-Ann would be named after one in whom her character bears a striking resemblance.
Nzingha developed her talent of public speaking while in college. Drawing praises from professors, friends and her family, it didn't take her long to realize that when she spoke, people stopped and listened. She knew instantly what her calling was and sought to find ways to use her newly discovered gift. However, after the birth of her son, she couldn't help but succumb to feelings of stagnacity as her once free hours were now spent in the timely rearing of him. Although the hours with her bundle of joy were well spent, she often looked out of the window of her life and longed to let others know of the goodness of the Lord and His soon return, using the tremendous talent that HE had placed within her care. She then consulted God Himself through constant prayer and before long, He answered and opened many doors allowing her to FINALLY unleash her hidden potential.
She wasted no time and quickly became known as 'The Voice' of GETGOSPEL as the host and DJ on GETGOSPEL Radio and GETGOSPEL TV, but as of late, traded in her title of 'DJ' for a try at the role of 'MC'; A role in which she combined her soft-yet-fierce lyricism with her already outstanding oratorical prowess. Nzingha's bold and outspoken approach to ministry has already been witnessed on stages across the country.
